HercuLoc Electric Parts

As of 2020 HercuLoc is no longer produced. We are very sorry.

Don’t worry about parts for your Electric HercuLoc, we will continue to support it from here for many years to come. Scroll down.

Actuator Motor and Gearbox Coupler:  The motors last 3-4 years on a survey truck, where the cover is opened 10-20 times per day.  If your current motor is running slowly, it is tired and will eventually call it quits.  This new high torque 4,000 RPM motor ships with the crimp connectors, solder and heat-shrink tubing.  You will need a wire stripper and a terminal crimping tool to make the connections.  You can solder the wires and apply the heat-shrink tubing with a butane lighter, just don’t set it on fire.  A new gearbox coupler is included; it goes between the motor shaft and the input shaft of the gearbox.  A schematic diagram is included.

Actuator:  This is not a hydraulic actuator; it is a ball screw with a worm drive gearbox.  The gearbox is a 40:1 ratio worm gear and is self-locking.  If you have a HercuLoc built before 2006 and with the internal brake, we highly recommend upgrading to this self-locking actuator.  There is no oil inside.  It is lubricated for life with a Mil-Spec grease that is rated from +212F to -60F.  It ships ready to install with the crimp connectors, solder and heat-shrink tubing.  You will need a wire stripper and a terminal crimping tool to make the connections.  You can solder the wires and apply the heat-shrink tubing with a butane lighter.  A schematic diagram is included.

Note:  The “Clevis Mount” actuator is pictured and has been used in the HercuLocs since late 2005.  If your HercuLoc was built in 2003-2005 it may have a “trunnion mount” with a black-painted outer tube and two lugs welded to the side of the outer tube.  Call us if you have a trunnion mount.

KL-550 Brain with Remotes:  This is an AutoLoc KL-550 keyless entry system for a car, adapted to control the HercuLoc.  AutoLoc continuously changes the frequency at which these operate.  New remotes will not talk to the older brains, so if you need new remotes for an older HercuLoc this kit is the only way to get it done.  It ships ready to install with the wires labeled.   The two remotes are already “learned” to the new brain.  A schematic diagram is included.  Be sure to route the antennae wire to the outside of the actuator housing…it is a pretty good Faraday cage and you’ll have reception problems if you leave the antennae inside.
